President’s Message

September 7, 2011 Posted by admin Dibaajimowin

Aanii Kina Goyaa! Hello everyone!

Anishinaabemowin Ateg continues to keep up the momentum in the movement of getting Ateg re-organized. I personally like to express sincere appreciation and commend the tremendous hard work to Ateg’s Management Agent Janis Fairbanks.

Yes, there has been a great deal of work that has been done throughout the months since April with dedicated individuals who continue to communicate through emailing on almost daily basis. With updated By-laws and Policy and Procedures in place, can only mean that this kind of growth has happened with Ateg Board having that sincere commitment in valuing why we are all here on this Ateg Board. We are in this place because we cherish the “Anishinaabemowin”.

I also commend the work of two youth representatives Akeshia Trudeau and Brooke Simon. Akeshia took it upon herself to work with the youth of different communities to get them involved with Anishinaabemowin Ateg. Brooke is undertaking to volunteer on compiling and collecting information for Ateg Newsletter. Thank you to both of you.

I also wish to acknowledge two individuals who are undertaking the Ateg web site. Maaganiit Noori, board member and Stacie Sheldon.

Let us move forward as we continue to support each other as Ateg gears up for the 18th year conference. This year the Theme is “Naagidoodaa Anishinaabe Maadiziwin” Let’s Follow Our Way of Life.
